CARA is pleased to be an international leader in research administration associations in the number of high-quality professional development opportunities we offer remotely. Our program continues to grow. To ensure the sustainability of this highly valued professional development program, CARA reminds members and other attendees that webinar registration is for a single registrant. If more than one person from an institution wishes to attend a webinar, a group rate is available for a group of up to 10 registrants. The group should constitute at least 7 registrants and include a minimum of 4 CARA members for a full group capacity - (1 CARA member per 2.5 registrants).
General
Registrants will receive an automated email confirmation of webinar registration upon booking. If the confirmation is not received, please contact the Program and Administrative Coordinator via email at webinars@cara-acaar.ca
It may be necessary for reasons beyond CARA's control to change the content, timing, speakers or venue of a webinar. CARA reserves the right to cancel a webinar if there are insufficient registrations. In this instance, a full refund of fees will be issued to the registrant or the registration may be transferred to another webinar if the registrant prefers. Views expressed during webinars are those of the providers and attendees. CARA does not accept any liability for any advice given or views expressed, or in any notes or documentation provided to attendees.
Please note that for promotional purposes or future learning, webinars may be recorded. By taking part in these webinars, providers, and attendees release CARA, its employees, and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitalizing, or publishing webinars, interviews, photos, computer images, text chats, videos, and/or sound recordings. By taking part in the webinar events, providers and attendees grant CARA permission to use interviews, photos, computer images, and/or sound recordings for the purposes set out above.
CARA reserves the right to revise these terms and conditions without advance notice.
Payment terms
Payment must be received the earlier of the start date of the webinar or within 60 days of invoice date. CARA members from institutions with outstanding registration fees of more than 60 days may be denied registration to further CARA events until the outstanding invoice(s) is/are paid in full. CARA accepts payment by credit card on our website or cheque.
Cancellations, non-participation and substitutions
All requests to cancel, transfer or substitute a registration must be made in writing to the Program Manager by email at least 24 hours in advance of the broadcast date applicable to the existing registration. All such requests will be acknowledged in writing. Out of respect to our speakers, CARA requests that registrants for free webinars also provide notice to CARA of cancellation.
Cancellations
A request of cancellation must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the event. If the delegate wishes to cancel his/her/their registration, the webinar fee is non-refundable; however, the delegate may request the registration be used toward another webinar or that the registration be used by another (a CARA member if the member rate was used for registration or a third party if the non-member was used). CARA reserves the right to cancel a webinar. In this instance, the registration will be transferred to another webinar.
Non-participation
If the delegate fails to participate in a Webinar and does not give CARA a minimum 24-hour advance notice, the webinar fee is non-refundable.
Substitutions
Participants may nominate a substitute to participate in a Webinar but must give CARA a minimum 24-hour advance notice so the charges and attendance may be reconciled. A substitute participant must be a member of CARA if the original registration was at the member rate.
Accessibility
Participants with a disability are asked to contact CARA to arrange for the provision of accessible formats and communication supports.
